Statue of Saint Mary and Saint John is located in Liberty Square in the city of Timisoara. It was installed in 1756 in front of Old City Hall. Made in Vienna by F. Blim and E. Wasserburger. Artwork done in Baroque style. Over time it has been moved several times, his place being taken by other monuments. The main characters, the ensemble, is St. John Nepomuk, the patron of Catholicism in Banat and the Holy Virgin Mary, who is holding lilies, symbol of purity. Rochus saints appear in the background, Carol Boromeu and Sebastian.
Statue's granite pedestal is divided into three registers, which give figurative reliefs depicting events leading up to the ordeal of canon Prague:
Stage I - Canon listening to Queen Joan confession;
Stage II - Charles inquisitor, curious to know the mystery of confession;
Stage III - throwing canon the river Vltava from Charles Bridge in Prague current.
