Paleontology-Stratigraphy Museum is located at Mihail Kogalniceanu No. 1 in Cluj Napoca. There are over 50,000 samples of which are exposed to more than 30,000. Fossil material is divided into several thematic collections, some with a scientific, academic and cultural landscapes.
Taxonomic paleontology collection combines in a systematic arrangement, plant, invertebrate and vertebrate fossils from the country and abroad. Remarkable pieces of coal giant ferns, and stems from the famous polychrome wood silicified Jurassic of Arizona.
Museum of Paleontology-Stratigraphy and holds collections of vertebrates, where they are exposed in the Jurassic of Holzmaden ichthyosaurieni (Germany) and several samples of the famous dinosaur fauna of the Basin and the Transylvanian Hateg: dinosaur eggs, very well preserved.
Collection is the most valuable collections and includes over 200 species of plants and animal fossils, of which 118 are included in National Heritage. They represent species new to science, described for the first time in the Transylvanian Basin. Regional museum collections are distinguished by their great value and diversity. Collection Transylvanian Basin is unique in Romania. Located in a separate room, the arrangement of samples in the collection tries to show the shape of the basin, the Mesozoic fauna from the Eastern Carpathians and Apuseni Mountains, disposed marginal and fauna Cenozoic deposits in the central hall.
