The gorge is located at Maguri-Racatau, Cluj county, from the intersection Racatau - Blajoaia - Maguri (upstream Somesu Cold Lake), to the mouth Negrutei (upstream of village Racatau), Somes difference of 300 meters down a distance of 6 km.

Negrutei Somes Cold formed between the mouth and place in a deep gorge Meadow, formerly wild, now crossed by a modernized road, which climbs steeply, creeping into more languages and detritus under the walls of rock, some of which exist even short climbing routes
built beside an impressive rocky spur in the valley is a small parking lot, only in the gorge.
