Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Timisoara is located on the street Emanoil Ungureanu, no. 14, Unirii Square in Timisoara. It was built on the site of an old church that burned in the fire of 1728. Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Timisoara was built between 1744-1748.
In terms of Baroque architecture. It was built with donations from the faithful.
In the first phase, the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral in Timisoara had no towers, which are added to the renovation of 1791. The two towers are equipped with five bells. The interior was painted by artist Daniel Constantin and iconostasis was made by Serbian sculptor Janice Mihailo.
At the beginning of its existence, the building was used by ethnic Romanian Orthodox believers, and those of Serb, but later the two Churches have split and she returned the Serbian community. In 1964 it was declared a historical monument.
