St. Michael Church in Cluj Napoca is located in Unirii Square, Cluj-
St. Michael church history merges with the beginning of Cluj as orasfiind built on land that served as a cemetery, and where there was a chapel dedicated to St. James.
Since 1837, the present clock tower was built in Gothic style, on the north facade, was completed in 1860. Tower remains today as the highest church tower in Romania. Over time, the building has been witness to several important moments: it was named Matthias Corvinus, Queen Izabella signs taught in the sanctuary of the royal messengers Emperor Ferdinand I.
Have been invested and the princes of Transylvania. Since the eighteenth century, the church being built around a series of buildings, shops, which they rent the parish and thus ensuring a handsome income. It is now considered, along with the Black Church in Brasov, one of the most important Gothic buildings in Romania this.
